Description

Carmel Road Pinot Noir 2021 captures the delicate, fruit-led character of Monterey, where cool Pacific influences give the grapes time to develop aromatic finesse. Named for the historic road connecting Carmel-by-the-Sea with the vineyards inland, the winery released its first vintage in 1999.

Tasting Notes
Bright, silky and inviting, this Pinot Noir opens with ripe cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, joined by hints of rhubarb, pomegranate and lightly toasted oak. The palate is juicy and smooth, balanced by fresh acidity and soft tannins, with an elegant, lingering finish. No specific cellar-aging window is provided.

Production
The grapes grow on wind-swept plateaus in Monterey, where coastal fog and cool Pacific breezes help preserve freshness, and well-drained gravel soils provide the vineyard setting.
