Canon 1er Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion - Magnum 1,5L, 2015

Château Canon 2015 is a refined Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé, presented in an impressive 1.5-litre magnum. From one of the appellation’s most distinguished estates, this vintage combines the elegance of limestone-grown Merlot with the structure and aromatic lift associated with Cabernet Franc, offering both immediate appeal and excellent cellaring potential.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby with youthful purple highlights, the wine opens with aromas of ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry, followed by violet, cedar and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with polished tannins, concentrated dark fruit and a fresh, gently saline character that reflects Saint-Émilion’s limestone terroir. Hints of spice, cocoa and tobacco emerge on the finish. The 2015 vintage can be enjoyed now with decanting, but should develop further complexity over the next 15–20 years when well stored.

Production
Château Canon is located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, where clay-limestone soils provide both richness and natural freshness. The estate’s grapes are carefully harvested at optimum ripeness and vinified parcel by parcel, allowing the character of each vineyard plot to be preserved. The wine is matured in French oak, supporting its structure and aromatic complexity without overshadowing the fruit. The magnum format is particularly favourable for long, graceful development in bottle.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C after allowing the wine to come gradually to serving temperature. Decant for approximately 1–2 hours, especially when enjoying it in its youth. Its depth and refined tannins pair beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, duck, truffled dishes and mature hard cheeses. A magnum makes an especially impressive choice for a formal dinner or celebratory occasion.
