Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vivid, polished appearance with the kind of clarity and depth that hints at its concentration. The aroma is layered and expressive, offering dark cherries, strawberries, clove, thyme, sage, and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, it is both elegant and powerful, unfolding with blackcurrant, dark plum, and cloudberry alongside savory notes of mushroom, black pepper, and a subtle echo of grilled tomato. The structure suggests excellent aging potential, though it is already drinking beautifully now.

Production
Mills Vineyard was planted in 1984 on Mount Harlan, a site distinguished by its high limestone content and cool climate, both of which are ideal for refined, age-worthy Pinot Noir. The grapes are harvested with a focus on preserving freshness and site expression, and the wine is then vinified by Mike Waller before spending 17 months in French oak barrels, including 30% new oak.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or herb-crusted lamb. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening it young to allow the aromatics to fully open.
