Caldaro Gewurztraminer 2025 is a richly aromatic white wine from the cool, high-altitude world of Trentino-Alto Adige, crafted by Kaltern Caldaro. It showcases the variety’s signature perfume and texture, with the historical Gewürztraminer name rooted in the nearby village of Tramin, where the grape was first documented in the 14th century.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense straw-yellow color that hints at its concentration and ripeness. The nose is exuberant and expressive, opening with rose petals, lychee, and pineapple, wrapped in the variety’s classic spicy floral character. On the palate, it is full-bodied and creamy, with generous fruit, aromatic depth, and a long, lingering finish that stays floral and fragrant. While delicious now for its immediacy and perfume, it also has the structure to hold up nicely for short-term cellaring, developing a more nuanced aromatic profile over time.

Production
Made from late-harvested Traminer Aromatico grapes picked at optimal ripeness and perfect health, the wine is gently handled from vineyard to cellar. After destemming, the grapes undergo 12 hours of cold maceration, followed by soft pressing, natural settling, and temperature-controlled fermentation. It then matures for three months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks, preserving freshness while adding texture and depth.

Food & Serving
This Gewürztraminer is a natural match for aromatic dishes such as Thai or Indian cuisine, spicy Asian noodles, paté, foie gras, and rich soft cheeses. Serve it well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
