Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense straw-yellow colour that immediately signals concentration and character. The nose opens with lemon peel and yellow melon, then unfolds into more layered notes of cumin, lavender, and saffron, giving the wine a distinctive aromatic profile with both freshness and spice. On the palate, Súere is generous and creamy in texture, yet never loses its lift. A lively, tangy freshness keeps everything in balance, while the finish is elegant, savoury, and mineral, with subtle herbal tones and a long, persistent aftertaste. This is a Lugana Riserva with excellent structure and the potential to develop gracefully over time.

Production
The grapes come from Desenzano del Garda in the Lugana area, where clay-rich calcareous soils and the moderating influence of Lake Garda create ideal conditions for Turbiana. Cà Maiol has worked this terroir sustainably since 1967, focusing on vineyard expression and low yields from older vines. The fruit is hand-harvested selectively, then the wine is matured for more than a year between stainless steel and French oak, followed by at least six months of bottle ageing to bring harmony and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine is a superb match for lean fish dishes, especially grilled sea bass, baked white fish, or delicate seafood risotto. It also works well with shellfish, herb-roasted poultry, and refined vegetarian dishes with asparagus or spring vegetables. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to open up its more nuanced spicy and mineral notes.
