Ca’ dei Frati Lugana I Frati is the estate’s flagship white wine and one of the most recognized expressions of Lugana DOC from the southern shores of Lake Garda. Made exclusively from Turbiana, the local grape also known as Trebbiano di Lugana, it combines regional identity, precision, and impressive aging potential in a style that has earned strong acclaim in Italy and abroad.

Tasting Notes
Expect a pale straw-yellow color with bright reflections, often showing an elegant clarity in the glass. The bouquet is typically fresh and layered, with notes of white flowers, citrus, ripe orchard fruit, and a subtle mineral touch that reflects the lake-influenced terroir. On the palate, it is poised and refined, with lively freshness balanced by a silky texture and a delicate savory edge. The wine is already enjoyable on release, but its structure and carefully built complexity allow it to develop beautifully over a few years, gaining depth and nuance with bottle age.

Production
The grapes are sourced from selected local vineyards in the Lugana area, where clay and limestone soils help preserve freshness while adding structure and minerality. After careful berry selection and harvesting, the wine is vinified in stainless steel to protect purity and aromatic expression, then aged for at least six months on selected fine lees before spending a further six months in bottle prior to release.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile white wine that pairs beautifully with lake fish, seafood, shellfish, risotto, light pasta dishes, and poultry with delicate sauces. Serve it well chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not necessary, though a short rest in the glass can help the aromas open up if the wine has had some bottle age.

The estate is widely respected for helping define the region’s quality standards and for bringing Turbiana-based wines to a broader international audience, earning significant recognition both in Italy and worldwide.
