Bruno Rocca’s Langhe Nebbiolo Fralu is a beautifully expressive red from Piedmont, offering a pure look at Nebbiolo in a more approachable style than Barbaresco or Barolo. Crafted by one of the region’s most respected family producers, it combines vivid fruit, classic tannic structure, and the elegance that has made Nebbiolo one of Italy’s most celebrated grapes.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby-red color with garnet reflections, hinting at the wine’s youthful energy and Nebbiolo character. The nose is generous and intense, with aromas of raspberry and black cherry leading the way, supported by a subtle floral lift and the variety’s unmistakable sense of finesse. On the palate, it is harmonious, pleasant, and well balanced, with ripe red fruit, good freshness, and a refined backbone of typical Nebbiolo tannins on the finish. While already highly enjoyable in its youth, it also has the structure to develop additional nuance over the next few years.

Production
Fralu is made from 100% Nebbiolo sourced in Piedmont’s Langhe area, where the family’s long-standing connection to the Barbaresco zone informs the wine’s style and precision. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel over 12–15 days to preserve freshness and aromatic purity, followed by 8–12 months of ageing in French oak barrels, which adds subtle complexity and texture without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
Serve this wine at 14–16°C and consider decanting briefly if opened young, especially to soften the tannins and open the aromatics. It is an excellent match for meat dishes, game, aged cheeses, and pork, where its acidity and structure complement richer flavors beautifully.
