Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 1998 vintage shows the kind of mature, layered character collectors look for in great Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Expect a deep, evolved color with aromas of kirsch, ripe cherries, spice, and savory Mediterranean herbs, followed by a full-bodied palate with generous fruit, rounded tannins, and a long, sumptuous finish. Production
The grapes come from a 3.5-hectare plot of very old vines, some around 100 years of age, giving the wine remarkable concentration and character. Although Grenache is the dominant grape, the blend is typically rounded out with Mourvèdre and Syrah, and the wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in large oak casks, of which only a small portion is new, preserving purity of fruit while adding subtle texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for roast lamb, game, duck, beef stew, or richly flavored Mediterranean dishes with herbs and olive oil. Serve it at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for at least one hour, especially if the bottle has been resting in the cellar for many years.
