Production
La Grande Année 2018 comes from carefully selected vineyards in the Marne Valley, where chalk-rich soils and well-drained, rolling terrain help create balanced, healthy fruit. The continental climate, influenced by Atlantic weather patterns, encourages slow ripening, which is ideal for building the acidity and aromatic complexity needed for exceptional Champagne. The vines are trained using the traditional Guyot method, and all grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is chosen. Vinification begins with primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by barrel maturation in French oak after blending. The wine is then aged on the lees in bottle for at least five years in Bollinger’s cellars, far exceeding the legal minimum and contributing to its depth, texture, and signature complexity.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is a superb partner for refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, roast chicken, truffle risotto, or aged Comté and Parmesan. It also works beautifully with sushi, champagne-pairing charcuterie, or creamy poultry dishes. Serve chilled at 8-10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass can help release its full aromatic range.
