Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby hue with youthful purple highlights. The nose is expressive and polished, with notes of ripe blackcurrant, plum, violets, cedar, and a subtle touch of spice and graphite. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with supple tannins, bright freshness, and a graceful balance between ripe dark fruit, savory oak accents, and mineral lift. The finish is elegant and persistent, with the structure to develop further over the next several years, though it is already approachable in its youth.

Production
Blason d’Issan comes from vineyards in Margaux and benefits from the estate’s classic Left Bank terroir of gravelly soils over clay and limestone, which help produce wines with finesse, aromatic complexity, and natural freshness. Fruit is carefully selected from the château’s holdings and vinified with the same attention to detail as the grand vin, aiming to preserve purity of fruit and a refined tannic profile.
