Ar.Pe.Pe’s Rosso di Valtellina Nebbiolo 2024 is a beautifully crafted expression of Nebbiolo from one of Italy’s most distinctive mountain wine regions. Handmade traditions, long family history, and patient aging come together here in a wine that feels both classic and unmistakably tied to Valtellina.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear garnet-red color that hints at its elegance and finesse. The nose is inviting and layered, with aromas of red berries, cherry, warm earth, rosehip, and a subtle cola-like spice. On the palate, it is classically styled and very pleasing, with a well-balanced structure, generous fruit, and soft tannins that give the wine real harmony. The finish is fruity and floral, and while already approachable, it should also develop nicely over the next few years, gaining more depth and complexity.

Production
This 100% Nebbiolo comes from Valtellina DOC in Lombardy, a unique alpine terroir where much of the work is still carried out by hand. The wine is macerated for 100 days in large 50-hectoliter wooden vats, followed by 9 months of aging in a mix of large casks, barrels, concrete, and bottle, creating a wine that balances tradition, texture, and freshness.

Food & Serving
This Rosso di Valtellina is an excellent match for risotto with mushrooms, roasted poultry, cured meats, braised veal, and alpine cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and while decanting is not essential, a short aeration can help reveal its aromatic complexity.
