Arnot-Roberts Rosé of Touriga Nacional 2023 is a distinctive California rosé built around the Portuguese grape Touriga Nacional, a rarity in the region and a perfect match for the winery’s innovative spirit. Since 2010, Arnot-Roberts has used fruit from small plantings at Luschinger Vineyard and St. Amant Vineyard to craft one of the most characterful rosés in their lineup.

Tasting Notes
Pale salmon in color, this rosé is bright, elegant, and beautifully restrained at 11.5% alcohol. The nose opens with white pear, honeydew melon, blood orange, pink rose petals, and subtle spice, leading into a fresh yet surprisingly full palate with wild cherry, saline lift, and a gently savory, spicy edge. It is the kind of rosé that offers real complexity rather than simple refreshment, with enough concentration to keep it interesting through the glass. Best enjoyed young for its vibrant fruit and aromatic precision, though its structure should allow it to develop nuance over the short term.

Production
The grapes come from small parcels at Luschinger Vineyard and St. Amant Vineyard in California, where Touriga Nacional is planted in very limited quantities. The clusters are lightly crushed and given brief skin contact before pressing to extract color, then the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness, aromatic detail, and pure fruit expression.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for grilled prawns, sushi, Mediterranean salads, roast chicken, or dishes with fresh herbs, citrus, and a touch of spice. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
