Sourced from a historic Santa Cruz Mountains vineyard perched above Silicon Valley, it combines pedigree, altitude, and low yields for a wine with real distinction and character.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep, dark-fruited core with layered aromatic complexity. Expect notes of blackcurrant and plum alongside anis, cedar, mocha, and a faint tarry edge on the nose. On the palate, the fruit is vivid and concentrated, supported by cedar spice, subtle earthiness, and polished, velvety tannins that give the wine shape without heaviness. The balance and structure suggest excellent aging potential, with the wine likely to develop further nuance over the next decade or more.

Production
Fellom Ranch Vineyard sits on a ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, overlooking Silicon Valley, where the elevated site and rugged growing conditions naturally keep yields low. Originally planted in 1929 to Zinfandel and replanted in 1980 with Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Charles Winery in Napa Valley, the vineyard has long been a special site for high-quality fruit. For this wine, all clusters were destemmed, and the wine matured for 22 months with only 20% new French oak, allowing the vineyard character to remain in focus.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or a truffle-rich mushroom dish. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to let the aromatics open and the tannins fully integrate.
