Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a clear ruby-red colour with an inviting, graceful brightness. The nose is layered and precise, offering red cherry, raspberry, subtle spice, forest floor, and a faint floral lift. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegant, with soft tannins, lively acidity, and a supple core of red fruit. The finish is long and finely detailed, leaving behind gentle spice and a delicate mineral impression. While already expressive, it has the structure and balance to continue developing beautifully in bottle, gaining notes of leather, truffle, and earthy complexity over time.

Production
Lavaux St. Jacques lies in the northern section of Gevrey-Chambertin, where a cool microclimate and chalky soils help preserve freshness and bring finesse to the wines. The 2011 vintage was shaped by variable weather, but careful selection and precise winemaking at Domaine Armand Rousseau resulted in a wine with excellent balance, moderate tannin, and vibrant acidity. Vinified from Pinot Noir, it reflects both terroir transparency and the domaine’s understated, terroir-driven style.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roasted duck, game birds, veal, mushroom dishes, and fine poultry preparations. It also pairs beautifully with soft-ripened cheeses and earthy cuisine that complements its red fruit and mineral character. Serve at around 15–17°C, and decant gently if young or just opened to allow the aromatics to unfold.
