Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep amber to mahogany hue, reflecting long maturation in oak. The nose is expected to be rich and expressive, with notes of dried fruits, candied orange peel, vanilla, toasted wood, spice, and subtle rancio character developing with age. On the palate, expect a velvety texture with generous flavours of prune, fig, caramel, baking spice, and oak, balanced by the warm, rounded structure typical of well-aged Bas Armagnac. The finish is usually long and elegant, with excellent ageing potential in bottle, though it is best enjoyed as a mature spirit ready to drink now.

Produced in Bas Armagnac, a sub-region prized for its sandy, iron-rich soils that give elegant, aromatic eaux-de-vie with finesse and longevity. The spirit is traditionally distilled from wine made in the region and then aged in oak casks, where slow oxidation and prolonged maturation build complexity, softness, and the distinctive depth associated with XO Armagnac.

Food & Serving
Serve neat in a tulip or small snifter at room temperature to appreciate its full aromatic range; a few minutes in the glass will help it open beautifully. It pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate, tarte tatin, dried fruit desserts, roasted nuts, blue cheese, or simply as a contemplative after-dinner drink. Decanting is not necessary, but gentle aeration in the glass is recommended.
