Made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this 2023 comes from Château Angélus, one of Saint-Émilion’s best-known estates. Angélus held Premier Grand Cru Classé A status from 2012 until it withdrew from the appellation’s classification in 2022, giving this vintage a place in the château’s post-classification history.

Food & Serving
Enjoy with roast lamb, beef, or game, or alongside mushrooms and other savoury dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C; as a young, premium Bordeaux, it may benefit from 1–2 hours in a decanter, with the wine checked periodically as it opens.

Producer
Château Angélus is a historic Saint-Émilion estate managed by the de Boüard de Laforest family since 1910. Its vineyards and distinctive bell-inspired name have made it a prominent part of the appellation, and its Premier Grand Cru Classé A ranking from 2012 until its 2022 withdrawal was a notable distinction in the estate’s history.
