Angelo Negro Barbera d'Alba Bertu is a bold, characterful expression of Barbera from Piedmont’s Roero area, offering the depth and warmth that have made the grape a favorite of Italian wine lovers. Produced by the historic Negro Angelo family, whose roots in winemaking date back to 1670, it combines regional tradition with a polished, modern style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dense, almost impenetrable red color that hints at its richness. The nose is intense and inviting, with vivid notes of blackberry and cherry lifted by a ripe, fruit-driven character. On the palate, it is warm and generous, with flavors that recall mature red fruit and plum jam, followed by a full, spicy finish. Its structure and concentration suggest good short- to medium-term aging potential, allowing the fruit and spice to integrate further over time.

Production
This Barbera d'Alba DOC is made from 100% Barbera sourced in the Roero area of Piedmont, a terroir known for producing wines with freshness, depth, and personality. The grapes undergo traditional maceration in stainless steel for around 15–18 days with two punch-downs, helping preserve purity of fruit while extracting color and texture. The wine is then aged for approximately 16 months to build complexity and balance.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with rich pasta dishes, roasted meats, grilled sausages, and aged cheeses, where its ripe fruit and spicy finish can stand up to hearty flavors. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if you want the aromas to open up fully.
