Description

Andrias Gvino Tako Dry Amber Wine 2023 is an elegant, approachable blend of four Georgian white grapes, offering a charming introduction to amber wine. Named Tako after George Wolski’s wife, it is made in the traditional Georgian qvevri, a clay vessel buried in the ground.

Tasting Notes
Amber in colour, it opens with aromas of dried stone fruit, tea, wildflowers, honey and herbs. The palate is supple and light-bodied, with balanced acidity and a graceful, easygoing texture. Its aging potential is not specified; the fresh, approachable style makes it enjoyable now.

Production
Kisi, Khikhvi, Kakhuri Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli grow together in a single organically farmed parcel in Kakheti, Georgia. The grapes undergo just two days of skin contact before the wine matures for a year in traditional qvevri. It is made without additives or added sulphur, and is neither fined nor filtered. Harvesting details are not available.

Food & Serving
Try it with roasted poultry, grilled vegetables, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses, whose savoury flavours complement its herbal and dried-fruit notes. Serve lightly chilled, around 12–14°C. Decanting is not essential, though a short airing in the glass can help the aromas unfold.
