Andremily Mourvedre, 2020

Andremily Mourvèdre 2020 is a striking example of how beautifully this often-supporting Rhône grape can shine when given the spotlight. Crafted by Jim Binns, a former Sine Qua Non winemaker, it brings together Mourvèdre with small amounts of Syrah and Viognier in a wine that has already earned serious international acclaim.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a deeply colored, almost opaque red with impressive concentration. The nose is rich and expressive, showing dark ripe fruit, warm spice, and a distinctive thread of bitter dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, with layers of black fruit, savory spice, and a firm, structured presence that gives it real depth. The finish is long and intense, and while it is already compelling, it should also reward further cellaring over the coming years.

Produced in California from Rhône varieties, this wine reflects Jim Binns’ focused approach to site-driven, high-impact winemaking. Mourvèdre takes the lead here, supported by Syrah and Viognier, in a style that emphasizes ripeness, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
Best served with hearty dishes such as grilled lamb, slow-braised short ribs, peppered steak, or rich mushroom-based cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least an hour is recommended to let the wine fully open up.

Andremily is the project of Jim Binns, who built his reputation at the cult California producer Sine Qua Non before launching his own label in 2012. Named after his children, Andrew and Emily, the winery has quickly become one of the most talked-about Rhône-style producers in the United States, with particular praise for its Mourvèdre.
