Andremily Eaba GSM 2019

Andremily Eaba 2019 is a striking Santa Barbara County red that brings together Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and a touch of Viognier in a style that is both powerful and beautifully detailed. Part of Andremily’s highly regarded small-production lineup, EABA — short for “end all be all” — has quickly become a benchmark blend for lovers of Rhône-inspired California wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an opaque ruby-purple color, hinting at the depth within. The nose is layered and clean, with notes of licorice, tar, blueberry and black cherry preserves, charcuterie, pepper, olive, and roasted savory herbs, all unfolding gradually as the wine breathes. On the palate it is medium-bodied yet impressively concentrated, with superfine tannins, balanced acidity, and slowly expanding waves of spicy fruit and earthy complexity. The finish is long, floral, and persistent, with a sense of precision that suggests excellent aging potential; this wine should continue to evolve beautifully over the next 5–7 years and beyond.

Production
The 2019 EABA was sourced from multiple vineyards across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, including Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke, G2, and Alta Mesa. It was fermented with 65% whole clusters and matured for about 22 months in a mix of 55% new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids, alongside 45% used French barriques, before being bottled on August 21, 2021. The resulting wine reflects both the diverse coastal terroirs of these sites and a vinification approach that emphasizes structure, aromatic complexity, and lift.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile but serious food wine, ideal with grilled lamb, braised short ribs, duck confit, rosemary-rubbed pork, or richly seasoned mushroom dishes. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, as air will help the aromatics open and the tannins integrate more fully.
