Description

Anapea Village’s 2020 Kisi is a Georgian amber wine made from a rare native grape that nearly disappeared during the Soviet era and has been replanted since Georgia regained independence. Its long skin contact and maturation in traditional qvevri make it a distinctive expression of Kakheti’s winemaking heritage.

Production
The Kisi vines grow in a one-hectare vineyard in Kakheti, where the family farms according to the organic guidelines of the Georgian Natural Wine Association. The grapes ferment on their skins for six months in large, buried clay qvevri. The wine is then transferred to qvevri intended for ageing, where it matures for up to a year, followed by three months in bottle.
