Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is one of the great benchmarks of the appellation, showing the richness and depth that have made Amarone such a celebrated style. Crafted from carefully selected Corvina, Corvinone, Oseleta, and Rondinella grapes, it combines power, elegance, and a distinctly classic Veneto identity.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the deep, concentrated color you would expect from a serious Amarone. The bouquet is warm and expressive, with aromas of dried violets, ripe blackberries, sweet spice, and confited tomatoes, creating a layered and inviting profile.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and robust, with impressive richness balanced by a mineral-driven finish that gives the wine lift and length. The structure suggests excellent aging potential, rewarding cellaring with greater complexity and nuance over time.
Production
The grapes are sourced from the Valpolicella Classico zone in Veneto, where the terroir is ideally suited to producing concentrated, high-quality fruit. After natural drying, the grapes are pressed and destemmed in January, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve precision and aromatic purity. The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels, followed by 7 months on the lees and a further 14 months in bottle before release.
Food & Serving
This Amarone pairs beautifully with game, grilled meats, and mature cheeses, where its intensity and structure can fully shine. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least an hour to allow the aromas and texture to खुल?
Producer
Allegrini is one of the most respected producers in Valpolicella, with a long-standing reputation for quality and a leading role in defining modern Amarone. The estate is widely regarded as a reference point for the region, known for combining traditional winemaking methods with meticulous vineyard work and consistently acclaimed wines.
