Albino Rocca Nebbiolo d'Alba 2024 comes from the winery’s own “terra di mezzo” — a transitional zone where Nebbiolo takes on a more approachable, elegant expression than in Barbaresco or Barolo. First vinified in 2007, it reflects Albino Rocca’s commitment to showing the grape’s finesse and regional identity from the western slope of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio.

Tasting Notes
Expect a bright ruby-red color with the classic transparency Nebbiolo lovers know and appreciate. On the nose, it typically opens with red cherry, rose petals, wild berries, and subtle hints of spice and earth. On the palate, it should be graceful and structured, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and a fresh, mineral-edged finish. While approachable in its youth, Nebbiolo has the balance and framework to evolve nicely over several years, gaining complexity and softness with bottle age.

Production
This wine is born in Piedmont’s distinctive “terra di mezzo,” where the soils and exposure do not qualify for Barbaresco or Barolo, but still provide an excellent setting for Nebbiolo. The grapes come from the western slope of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, an area known for producing refined, site-driven fruit. Vinification began at the estate in 2007, with the focus on preserving Nebbiolo’s aromatic purity and natural structure.

Food & Serving
A natural match for risotto with mushrooms, truffle dishes, roasted poultry, veal, and braised white meats. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses and Piedmontese cuisine. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for around 30–60 minutes if you want to soften the tannins and open up the aromatics.
