Production
Idig is a south-east-facing vineyard with a slope of around 20%, relatively steep for the Pfalz. A gentle, persistent breeze helps keep the grapes dry as they ripen. Its soils are characterised by Terra Fusca and limestone, with small amounts of basalt brought from the nearby Pechsteinkopf. The vines include some ungrafted old plantings as well as younger parcels used for the Großes Gewächs. Harvesting and vinification details for the 2021 vintage are not provided.
