Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a pale straw to light golden hue with a vivid, youthful brightness. The nose opens with yellow plum, white peach, and orange blossom, layered with subtle herbs and floral notes that give it extra lift and complexity. On the palate, the wine is light and elegant, with juicy stone fruit, citrus freshness, and a fine spicy edge. Its interplay of delicate sweetness, lively acidity, and mineral tension creates a long, refreshing finish. While already highly enjoyable now, it should also age gracefully for several years, gaining more depth and nuance over time.

Production
The grapes come from Schloss Johannisberg’s south-facing vineyards in the Rheingau, grown on a quartzite hillside with loess and clay soils. The site benefits from the 50th parallel’s marked temperature shifts, helping preserve aromatic precision and freshness. The fruit was harvested by hand, gently pressed as whole clusters, fermented in stainless steel, and then matured for six months on fine lees in a large 1,200-liter oak cask to build texture and structure without overpowering the wine’s purity.

This Kabinett is a versatile partner for lightly spicy Asian cuisine, aromatic cheeses, and fruit-based desserts, and it also works beautifully as an aperitif. Serve chilled at 8–10 °C. Decanting is not necessary; instead, simply open and pour to enjoy its aromatic freshness and delicate balance.
