The 2023 Kiedrich Turmberg Riesling VDP.Erstes Gewächs from Robert Weil is a finely tuned, site-driven Rheingau Riesling with remarkable precision and cool minerality. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, pale straw color with a youthful shimmer. The nose is beautifully lifted, with citrus, white peach, and mirabelle layered over subtle herbal spice and a cool, stony mineral note. The palate is taut, filigreed, and vibrant, with crisp acidity carrying clear fruit and a very precise, saline finish. This is a wine built for graceful aging, and it should develop additional complexity over the next several years, gaining depth while retaining its freshness and linearity.

Production
The Kiedrich Turmberg is a 3.8-hectare monopole site owned by Robert Weil, marked by phyllite slate and loess loam soils that naturally encourage a cool, mineral style of Riesling. Grapes are selectively harvested by hand in several passes, then spontaneously fermented and matured in stainless steel and 1,200-liter Stückfässer to preserve purity, tension, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for zander, poultry, or Asian cuisine, especially dishes with delicate spice or citrus-driven sauces. It also pairs beautifully with oysters and goat cheese. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to let the wine fully open in its youth.
