Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Vintage Port shows a deep, dark core and the density you’d expect from a serious young Port. The nose opens with blackberries, plum, and cassis, lifted by violet, warm spice, and a touch of cocoa. On the palate it is rich and compact, but never heavy, with fine-grained tannins and fresh, precise acidity keeping everything in balance. The finish is long, layered, and subtly mineral, with excellent aging potential; this is a Port that will reward patience over decades.

Production
The grapes come from steep schist terraces in the Douro Valley, where poor soils and intense sun help produce small, concentrated berries with impressive structure. Quinta do Noval vinifies traditionally in granite lagares with foot treading, a method that extracts color and tannin gently while preserving freshness and fruit purity. The wine then matures for around 18 months in large wooden casks to retain its intensity and elegance.

This Vintage Port pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts, and richly flavored game dishes. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and consider decanting before serving to separate any sediment and allow the wine to खुल fully; younger Vintage Port like this especially benefits from air.
