Sourced from a prized monopole site in the Mosel, it combines the cool precision of steep blue and grey slate slopes with the unmistakable finesse of Markus Molitor’s hands-on winemaking.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant, polished profile with vibrant clarity and the kind of concentration that signals serious pedigree. The nose opens with citrus, peach, and apricot, layered over a distinct slate-driven mineral edge and a subtle herbal nuance. On the palate, the wine is taut, lively, and highly precise, with ripe fruit kept beautifully in check by integrated acidity and a savory, salty mineral thread. The finish is long, elegant, and beautifully pure, with excellent aging potential; this is a wine that should develop even greater depth and complexity over many years.

Production
The Vogelsang site within Domäne Serrig is a 25-hectare monopole planted to Riesling and shaped by steep slate hillsides, predominantly blue and grey slate, that lend the wines their signature coolness, salinity, and depth. The fruit is hand-harvested with strict selection, gently pressed, and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts before spending an extended period on fine lees in large 3,000-liter Stockinger oak casks. The aim is maximum transparency and a site-expressive style that captures the vineyard rather than the cellar.

Food & Serving
This Riesling is a superb match for scallops, grilled zander, or veal loin with morels, and it also pairs beautifully with Asian dishes featuring ginger, lime, or coriander. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and while decanting is not essential, a short aeration can help open the wine if it is tasted young.
