2012 Joyau Blanc Extra Brut is a prestige cuvée from Champagne Boizel, crafted only from carefully selected Grands and Premiers Crus. Blending Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of Champagne’s most respected villages, it reflects both the house’s long heritage and the refinement of a truly exceptional vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and layered, with white flowers, citrus, toasted almonds, and pastry-like notes from extended ageing on the lees. The palate is silky yet precise, balancing citrus-driven freshness with a creamy texture and impressive aromatic depth. The finish is long, mineral, and elegant, and the wine has excellent ageing potential thanks to its structure, low dosage, and outstanding 2012 vintage character.

Production
Joyau Blanc is made from first-press juice sourced exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus in Champagne, including Pinot Noir from Mailly, Cumières, and Chigny-les-Roses, and Chardonnay from Avize, Chouilly, and Vertus. Around 10% of the base wines are matured in old oak barrels for added complexity, followed by more than 10 years of lees ageing in Boizel’s chalk cellars before being disgorged as Extra Brut with 4 g/l dosage.

Food & Serving
This Champagne pairs beautifully with sea bass, chicken with chanterelles, roast suckling pig, or caviar. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary; however, a few minutes in the glass will help its aromas open up fully.
