Tasting Notes

Production
The grapes for this wine come from the steep, slate-rich slopes of the Berncasteler Doctor in the Mosel, a site celebrated for producing Rieslings of remarkable finesse, concentration and mineral expression. Trockenbeerenauslese is made from individually selected, naturally shrivelled grapes affected by noble rot, resulting in exceptionally concentrated juice. The fruit was hand-harvested and carefully vinified to preserve the balance between opulent sweetness and Riesling's characteristic acidity. The Goldkapsel identifies this as an especially select bottling.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. This Trockenbeerenauslese is excellent on its own as a contemplative aperitif, or alongside foie gras, blue cheese and mature washed-rind cheeses. It also pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée, apricot tart and lightly sweet pastries. Decanting is generally unnecessary; instead, open carefully and allow the wine a little time in the glass to reveal its full aromatic complexity.
