Description

A distinguished dry Riesling from Mittelheimer Sankt Nikolaus, a Rheingau site shaped by its close relationship with the Rhine. The river moderates temperatures and reflects sunlight into the vines, while the estate’s oldest Riesling plantings lend this sought-after Grosses Gewächs its sense of place.

Production
Sankt Nikolaus has sandy, calcareous loess soils, and some of the estate’s Riesling vines here are more than 65 years old. The supplied production notes describe the 2020 vintage, including careful hand harvesting, a gentle extended pressing and spontaneous fermentation; details specific to the 2022 vintage were not provided.
