Tasting Notes
The wine is expected to show a bright, elegant appearance, with the concentration and depth typical of a Großes Gewächs Riesling. On the nose, characteristic notes of flint, dried herbs and hay are complemented by subtle fermentation-derived nuances; with air, the bouquet should gradually reveal greater ripeness and complexity. Production
The Riesling vines are planted in Kastanienbusch, a warm and naturally sheltered depression with iron-rich red slate soils known as Rotliegendes. Grapes from the estate’s approximately 3.5 hectares of parcels are handled separately and undergo 24 hours of skin contact before fermentation and maturation in stainless-steel tanks. Only after the individual lots have completed this process does the estate decide which wines qualify for Großes Gewächs, ensuring that the final cuvée reflects the vineyard’s character and the vintage.

Food & Serving
Its firm acidity and mineral structure make this Riesling an excellent partner for freshwater fish, shellfish, roast poultry, veal and dishes featuring asparagus or creamy sauces. It also works particularly well with refined vegetarian cuisine and mildly spicy Asian dishes. Serve at approximately 10–12°C; decanting is not essential, but a short period of aeration in a carafe or large glass can help reveal the wine’s savoury complexity, especially when enjoyed young.
