Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz’s 2024 Kastanienbusch is a Riesling Großes Gewächs from one of Germany’s most acclaimed single vineyards. Its distinctive red, iron-rich Rotliegendes soils and warm, sheltered setting give the site a reputation for producing structured, mineral-driven wines.

Production
Kastanienbusch lies in a warm, wind-protected hollow in the Pfalz, where Riesling vines grow on iron-rich red Rotliegendes slate. The estate’s description of its Kastanienbusch production notes that parcels are handled separately, given 24 hours of skin contact, then fermented and matured in stainless steel; the final selection for Großes Gewächs is made after this process.
