Walter Hansel’s The North Slope 2023 is a distinctive Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, made exclusively from French clone 115 grown on a special parcel of the estate. It pairs the region’s renowned finesse with a darker-fruited, more structured style while retaining Pinot Noir’s characteristic elegance.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby with violet highlights, it opens with ripe cherry, dark berries and fresh plum, followed by floral notes of lavender and violet. With air, polished leather, forest floor and fine herbs add earthy, savoury complexity.

The wine comes from a special parcel at Walter Hansel’s property in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County and is made from 100% Pinot Noir, specifically French clone 115, known for its fruit intensity and fuller profile. Harvesting and vinification details are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 14–16°C. It is a natural match for duck breast, veal, pork and roast poultry, as well as mushroom or truffle dishes. A short rest in the glass should reveal its aromas; consider decanting for about 30 minutes if enjoying it young.
