Vietti Barbera d'Alba Trevie 2024

Vietti Barbera d’Alba Tre Vigne 2024 is a lively, full-bodied red that brings the bright fruit and natural freshness of the Langhe to the glass. Made entirely from Barbera and aged in wood and stainless steel, it balances ripe, generous flavours with a distinctly Piedmontese sense of poise.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe cherry, violet and vanilla, followed by hints of sweet spice. The palate is rounded and full, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and supple, sweet tannins that integrate neatly with the oak. The finish is persistent and harmonious; enjoy it while its fresh fruit is expressive, or cellar it in the short term for added integration.

Production
The Barbera grapes come from Langhe vineyards in and around Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, La Morra and Castiglione Tinella. Guyot-trained vines grow in calcareous clay soils, which help lend the wine its characteristic freshness and ripe fruit profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel for around two weeks, with frequent délestage and daily pump-overs; malolactic fermentation also occurs in steel. The wine then matures for about a year in wood and stainless steel. It is described as suitable for a vegan diet.

Food & Serving
Pair with roasted red meat, game or mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C; a brief decant of 20–30 minutes can help open its aromas, though it can also be enjoyed without decanting.
