Description

Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is the Champagne house’s signature non-vintage cuvée, known for its generous Pinot Noir-led style and bright, polished character. Founded in 1772, the house became closely associated with Madame Clicquot, whose innovations helped shape modern Champagne.

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, with an aromatic nose of orchard fruit, dried fig and mineral notes. The palate is full and broad, bringing smoky pear and nectarine with a touch of honey, followed by a gently spiced finish, a hint of bitter lemon peel and very good persistence. The cuvée is made to be enjoyed on release, though careful cellar storage may allow it to develop further. The supplied tasting note describes a specific bottling and may not reflect every release.

Production
This non-vintage Champagne is reported as an approximate blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. It comes from Champagne, where the region’s cool climate and chalk-rich soils help shape the grapes’ freshness and mineral character. Further details on the harvest and vinification of this bottling were not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with oysters, shellfish, smoked salmon or roast chicken. Its fruit and breadth also make it a good match for creamy cheeses and savoury canapés. Decanting is not usually necessary; pour gently into Champagne flutes or white-wine glasses.

Producer
Champagne Veuve Clicquot was established in Reims in 1772. Under the leadership of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot, the house introduced influential techniques, including the riddling table, which helped clarify Champagne. Today, its Yellow Label remains one of the region’s best-known non-vintage bottlings.
