Description

Vega Sicilia Único 2011 is a distinguished Ribera del Duero red, combining deep concentration with striking aromatic detail and a long, mineral finish. The estate’s flagship wine has helped establish the region’s reputation for age-worthy Spanish reds.

Tasting Notes
Deep, glistening ruby in the glass, it opens with an intensely perfumed bouquet of ripe black and blue fruit, vanilla, pipe tobacco, exotic spice, cola and potpourri. On the palate, concentrated cassis and cherry liqueur meet hints of smoke, spice cake and mocha, with remarkable clarity and a delicate suggestion of candied violet.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C with roast lamb, grilled or braised beef, game, or mature hard cheeses. Decant for about an hour before serving to let the aromas unfold; the wine’s structure and balance also make it a strong candidate for extended cellaring.
