Torre dei Beati’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva Cocciapazza 2021 takes its name from the historic vineyard area known locally as “Coccia Pazza”—“crazy head” in the Abruzzo dialect. Crafted as the estate’s fullest and most traditional expression of Montepulciano, it reflects the grape’s natural depth, richness and character.

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red in appearance, this Riserva shows the generous structure and intense fruit typical of Montepulciano from Abruzzo. The nose is expected to reveal ripe dark berries, black cherry and plum, complemented by spicy, earthy nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with firm but rounded tannins, balanced freshness and a long, richly flavoured finish. The wine’s depth and structure make it well suited to further bottle ageing. It can be enjoyed now with decanting, while additional time in the cellar should allow the fruit, tannins and savoury complexity to develop greater harmony.

Production
The grapes come from the Cocciapazza vineyard area, selected for its particularly favourable soil and climatic conditions and its ability to produce rich, fully mature wines. Harvesting is carried out in repeated passes through the vineyard—generally three per vintage—so that the grapes can be picked at their optimum ripeness.
