Tenute Capaldo’s Taurasi Riserva Gulielmus 2020 is a powerful yet refined expression of Aglianico, Campania’s signature red grape. Classified as Taurasi DOCG Riserva, it combines the region’s renowned structure and longevity with elegant fruit, mineral character and balsamic complexity.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep ruby-red colour. Its bouquet opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, complemented by balsamic nuances and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and persistent, supported by firm, well-defined tannins that give the wine structure and considerable depth. With its concentration, tannic backbone and extended ageing, the 2020 vintage has excellent cellaring potential and should develop greater savoury and tertiary complexity over the coming years. It can also be enjoyed now after careful decanting.

Production
Produced from Aglianico in Campania and classified as Taurasi DOCG Riserva, Gulielmus undergoes an extended maturation designed to bring balance and complexity to the grape’s naturally powerful structure. The wine is aged for 18–24 months in barriques, followed by more than two years of bottle ageing before release.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for red meat, game and mature, hard cheeses, this Taurasi is particularly well suited to rich, slow-cooked dishes and roasted preparations. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. Decant for approximately one to two hours before serving to soften the tannins and allow the balsamic and mineral aromas to unfold.
