Tenuta Ulisse Merlot Rosé is a still rosé from Terre di Chieti in Abruzzo, made to showcase Merlot’s vivid fruit and aromatic freshness. Produced using the winery’s distinctive cooled-grape technique, it offers a modern take on the region’s winemaking rather than a style with a specific historical claim.

Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in colour, it opens with fresh red-fruit aromas, including blueberry and raspberry, alongside delicate rose-petal notes. The palate is lively, with good acidity that echoes the fruit-forward nose and leads into a notably persistent finish. No specific aging potential is provided; its fresh, aromatic profile is likely best enjoyed while young.

Production
The Merlot comes from vineyards around Crecchio, in the Terre di Chieti area, where local exposures, soils and microclimate help shape the grapes’ freshness and aromatic definition. Whole bunches are chilled in Tenuta Ulisse’s cooling tunnel to encourage cryomaceration and extract delicate aromas. After destemming, cold maceration and pressing in a protected environment, the must ferments slowly in stainless-steel tanks; the wine is then aged in bottle. Harvesting details are not specified.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, as an aperitif or alongside light charcuterie, white meats and fish. Its bright acidity and fresh berry character also suit simple summer dishes. Decanting is not necessary.
