Production
Steinberg is one of the Rheingau’s most distinguished vineyard sites, and the cool climate and ripening conditions of the region are particularly suited to Riesling. Eiswein is made from grapes left on the vine until they freeze naturally, concentrating sugars, flavours and acidity before pressing. The fruit for this auction bottling was selected from the finest available grapes of the 1992 vintage, resulting in an intensely concentrated wine with the hallmark freshness of frozen-harvest Riesling.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its rich sweetness and lively acidity make it a natural partner for fruit-based desserts, apple or pear tarts, crème brûlée, blue cheese and foie gras. Decanting is generally unnecessary, although carefully standing the bottle upright before opening and pouring gently can help preserve the wine’s character and avoid disturbing any mature sediment.
