Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep golden hue, reflecting both its concentrated style and more than two decades of bottle age. Its expressive bouquet suggests ripe peach, apricot, honey and gently dried-fruit nuances, with the depth and intensity expected from a Trockenbeerenauslese. On the palate, rich sweetness is balanced by Riesling’s refreshing acidity, creating a poised and harmonious expression rather than a heavy one. Layers of stone fruit, honey and candied citrus develop with air, while the wine’s concentration and acidity give it excellent longevity. Production
The grapes come from the steep, highly regarded Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg vineyard in the Rheingau, where sunny exposures and the region’s mineral-rich soils provide ideal conditions for Riesling. For a Trockenbeerenauslese, only individually selected, highly concentrated berries are harvested by hand, typically after noble-rot development and significant dehydration on the vine. The resulting must is carefully fermented to preserve its natural fruit, sweetness and acidity, before extended bottle maturation allows the wine to gain further complexity. As a Versteigerung bottling, it represents a specially selected wine associated with Kloster Eberbach’s renowned auction tradition.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 8–10°C, allowing a few minutes in the glass for its aromas to unfold. This concentrated Riesling is a classic match for foie gras, pâté and rich terrines, while its acidity also complements blue cheese, spicy Asian cuisine and fruit-based desserts featuring apricot or peach. It is equally rewarding served on its own as a contemplative after-dinner wine. Decanting is usually unnecessary, although a gentle transfer to a clean decanter can help separate any mature sediment and open the wine before serving.
