Tasting Notes
The wine presents a deep golden hue, reflecting its age and concentration. Its expressive bouquet reveals layers of honey, ripe peach, apricot and citrus, with the complexity expected from a mature Beerenauslese. On the palate, it is sweet, rich and fruit-driven, balanced by lively acidity that prevents the wine from feeling heavy. Produced at Schloss Saarstein in Serrig on the Saar, this Riesling comes from the steep, cool-climate vineyards characteristic of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. Beerenauslese is made from individually selected, exceptionally ripe grapes, often with the influence of noble rot, which concentrates both sugar and flavour. The wine’s natural acidity provides the structure necessary for extended bottle ageing, while the Goldkapsel designation signals a particularly prestigious selection.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. This Beerenauslese is excellent as an aperitif or alongside fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée, apple tart, peach desserts and fine pastries. Its sweetness and acidity also make it a compelling partner for blue cheese or foie gras. Decanting is generally not necessary; open carefully and allow the wine a few minutes in the glass to reveal its full aromatic complexity.
