The wine comes from the Erbacher Markobrunn vineyard in Germany’s Rheingau, a region renowned for producing elegant and age-worthy Riesling. For a Trockenbeerenauslese, only individually selected grapes affected by noble rot, or Botrytis cinerea, are harvested by hand once their sugars and flavours have become highly concentrated. This meticulous selection results in an intensely sweet, aromatic wine with the balancing acidity characteristic of Riesling.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, allowing its mature aromas and concentrated sweetness to unfold in the glass. It is a natural partner for foie gras, blue cheeses and refined fruit-based desserts, while its complexity also makes it ideal for contemplative tasting on its own. Decanting is not essential, but carefully standing the bottle upright before opening and pouring gently can help separate any natural sediment that may have developed over its long life.
