Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the vivid deep ruby color expected of a youthful Port, with a bright, energetic appearance. The nose is rich and inviting, layered with ripe red and dark berry fruit, subtle spice, and the warm, generous character that defines Ruby Port. On the palate, it is full-bodied and robust, yet still polished, with concentrated fruit flavors, good balance, and a smooth, lingering finish. Its style is built for immediate enjoyment, though it will hold well for a few years in bottle while maintaining its lively fruit character.

Production
This Port comes from Portugal’s Douro Valley, one of the world’s most historic and dramatic wine regions, where steep vineyards and schist soils create ideal conditions for fortified wine production. Sandeman continues to use traditional winemaking methods, selecting and blending wines from its extensive portfolio to achieve the desired richness, structure, and freshness.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 16–18°C, to bring out the fruit and keep the wine vibrant. It pairs beautifully with blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts, berry tarts, and nut-based pastries. Decanting is not usually necessary for a Ruby Port intended for early drinking.
