Description
Rita & Rudolf Trossen’s Schieferblume Riesling trocken 2024 is an organically produced Mosel Riesling shaped by slate, with a focused, classically dry Kabinett character. Its fruit comes mostly from the secluded Langfuhr vineyard, lending this vintage a distinctive sense of place and a little more edge than many wines of the style.
Tasting Notes
The nose combines mineral, slate-like spice with subtle yellow-fruit notes of apple and greengage plum, followed by a light herbal accent. On the palate, the wine is taut and focused, with a lively, distinctly dry Mosel profile and more angularity than a softer, fruit-forward Kabinett. Production
Most of the 2024 fruit comes from Langfuhr, a secluded vineyard surrounded by woodland, meadows and the Mosel.
