Quintodecimo’s Irpinia Falanghina Via del Campo 2025 is a polished expression of Campania’s Irpinia terroir, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Luigi Moio to show Falanghina at its most precise and expressive. Balancing freshness, texture, and subtle complexity, it reflects both modern craftsmanship and the long-standing identity of this historic white grape in southern Italy.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a clear golden-yellow color that hints at both ripeness and elegance. The nose opens with fresh fruit aromas of apple, banana, and pineapple, lifted by refined salty and mineral nuances.
On the palate, it is enveloping and layered, with a vibrant core of freshness supported by delicate menthol and lightly toasted sensations from its partial oak élevage. The finish is clean, savoury, and persistent, with enough structure to suggest it will develop gracefully over the next few years.
Production
Made from 100% Falanghina grown in Irpinia, the grapes are harvested in the first ten days of October and carefully hand-sorted upon arrival at the winery. After gentle pressing and static settling, fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak barriques at controlled temperatures between 6 and 14°C, followed by maturation in a combination of steel and French oak, then 8 months of bottle aging.
Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, and refined Mediterranean dishes, especially those with herbs, citrus, or a light creamy sauce. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C; decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass can help it open beautifully.
Producer
Quintodecimo was founded by Luigi Moio, one of Italy’s most respected and internationally recognised oenologists, with the goal of creating wines that express the character of Irpinia with precision and authenticity. The estate has become a benchmark in Campania for quality-driven, terroir-focused wines, and is widely admired for combining scientific rigor with a deep sense of place.
