Possa Cinque Terre Bianco 2025

Possa Cinque Terre Bianco is a distinctive Ligurian white that captures the salty, sea-breezed character of the Cinque Terre in every glass. Made from local grapes including Albarola, Bosco, and Rossese, it stands out for its skin maceration and its expressive, textured style—an authentic modern take on one of Italy’s most dramatic coastal wine regions.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright golden-yellow hue that hints at both ripeness and structure. The nose is deeply Mediterranean, with aromas of wild herbs, coastal scrub, and mineral notes lifted by a subtle balsamic edge. On the palate, the wine is savory, spicy, and textured, with a persistent finish shaped by salinity, herbal nuances, and a firm mineral backbone. It has the kind of character that can develop nicely over the next few years, gaining additional complexity and depth with time.

Production
The grapes are grown on steep terraced vineyards in Riomaggiore, overlooking the sea in the Cinque Terre area of Liguria. The soils are acidic and rocky, with shale and sandstone gravel, while the vineyard’s southeast exposure and old vines contribute to the wine’s unmistakable saline imprint and vibrant minerality. Harvest takes place in early September. After destemming, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, followed by around four days of maceration with regular pump-overs to enhance aromatic extraction. The wine is then aged for six months in a combination of stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, and acacia casks, adding structure, definition, and length.

Food & Serving
This is a wonderfully food-friendly white for seafood, especially shellfish, grilled or fried fish, and Mediterranean-style vegetarian dishes. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to open up its aromatic complexity and textural depth.
