Pol Roger’s 2002 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is a powerful, richly layered vintage Champagne, praised as a formidable rival to the celebrated 2008. Named in honour of the British statesman and the close association he had with the house, this cuvée brings together generous breadth and concentration with impressive structure.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with confited citrus, stone fruit and mandarin, followed by sweet dried-fruit notes, smoke and a subtle iodine character. Full-bodied and vinous on the palate, it is complex and concentrated, with broad shoulders, notable structure and a long, persistent finish.

Food & Serving
Its depth and structure suit roast chicken, turbot or other richly textured seafood, and mature hard cheeses. Serve well chilled, around 10–12°C; a short rest in the glass can help reveal its aromas. Decanting is optional—if you choose to do so, pour gently and serve promptly.

Founded in Épernay in 1849, Pol Roger is one of Champagne’s established family-owned houses. The Sir Winston Churchill cuvée honours the statesman’s well-known connection with the house and is made only in selected vintages.
