Description

Poggio dei Gorleri’s Pigato Arveglio 2023 is a still white wine from Liguria’s Riviera Ligure di Ponente, made to express the character of the region’s Pigato grape and its coastal setting. Produced by the Merano family since 2003, it brings together a fresh, balanced style and a distinctive saline finish.

Tasting Notes
Straw yellow in the glass, it opens with fruity and citrus aromas that evoke the sea air. The palate is fresh, soft and well balanced, with a lively flow leading to an inviting, salt-tinged finish. It is described as having the potential to develop over 5–10 years.

Production
The grapes come from the Riviera Ligure di Ponente, where the vineyards’ proximity to the sea contributes to the wine’s local character. Under the guidance of oenologist Giuseppe Caviola, Poggio dei Gorleri follows sustainable farming principles, limits chemical use in the vineyards and during winemaking, and handles the grapes carefully to preserve Pigato’s varietal character. Harvesting methods and specific vinification details are not provided.

Food & Serving
