Sourced from Planeta’s Feudo di Mezzo vineyard in the heart of Etna’s wine country, it combines the grape’s elegant character with the dramatic identity of volcanic Sicily.

Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in colour, the wine opens with inviting aromas of red berries, wild herbs and subtle earthy, mineral notes. On the palate, Nerello Mascalese brings freshness, fine tannins and a graceful structure, with flavours of red cherry, raspberry and delicate spice leading to a clean, lifted finish. Its balance and freshness make it approachable in its youth, while the tannic structure and acidity should allow it to develop added savoury complexity over the next few years when properly stored.

Production
The grapes come from Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, situated amid the vineyards of Mount Etna, where the unique volcanic terroir lends the wine energy, freshness and mineral character. Made exclusively from Nerello Mascalese, the wine reflects Planeta’s pursuit of a contemporary expression of this noble Sicilian variety. Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool, at approximately 16–18°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is not essential for the 2024 vintage, although 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help open the wine when enjoyed young.
